Books about science

The science of genetics has advanced so much just in the last few years. This is an excellent summary of progress so far, explaining what we know about genetics, and how it throws light on the evolution of life and all living beings. The combination of genetics and archaeology is constantly driving forward our understanding of where we come from.

This is a very human tale by an American surgeon of his experiences treating patients, and his reflections on people and the medical system.

I hate the cover. It’s just too messy and doesn’t really communicate much at a glance. However, this is an enjoyable tour of the world of material science. It makes concrete interesting.
